Aquebogue News: Check out Jamesport Meeting House’s new site

If you haven’t visited Jamesport Meeting House’s website in a while, you should check it out (jamesportmeetinghouse.org). The updated website is really quite lovely and user-friendly. The photos are awesome and the information and history of this local treasure is wonderful. The best feature is that you can now purchase all event tickets from the website. The next musical event is just around the corner.

Paolo Bartolani, virtuoso concert pianist, will return to the Jamesport Meeting House Friday, June 12, at 7:30 p.m. with an exciting program featuring a musical conversation between 19th century romantic composer Franz Schubert and contemporary composer Philip Glass. Tickets are $18 in advance at jamesportmeetinghouse.org and $20 at the door. Student tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Check it out.

Hallockville Museum Farm will host a family barn dance in the Naugles Barn Saturday, June 13, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The event is sponsored by the East End Livestock and Horseman’s Association Inc. Caller Jim Gregory will keep families dancing all night long. Tickets, which may be purchased at the door, are $20 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6-12. Kids 5 and under are welcome for free. Alcohol will not be served. Proceeds from the dance will go toward EELHA Rescue and Scholarship funds.

According to EELHA’s website, their biggest contribution to the community is the scholarship award offered to a graduating senior from an East End school district. This year, it will offer a second scholarship to a deserving college student in the field of animal science. The scholarship is currently $800 for each student. It is due to their fundraising efforts that EELHA is able to offer these scholarships. For more information, visit eelha.org.

Now is the time to register your kids for Vacation Bible School. Both Living Water and Our Redeemer Lutheran churches in Aquebogue sponsor creative summer programs.
