Cops looking for info on W. Main Street assault

Police are searching for a man after they say he assaulted another man at the Quick Stop Deli on West Main Street last night.

According to police, the victim told authorities that around 11 p.m. he had been struck in the head with a stick at the convenience store, located next to the Animal Hospital of Riverhead, by a man he knew by the name of Marvin.

The victim was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center and treated for a laceration on his head.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing. Anyone with information about it is asked to call Rivehread Police Department at 727-4500.
