Reward offered for help locating man who used counterfeit money

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a man who used counterfeit money in a Calverton gas station last month. 

Police said a man entered the Exxon gas station on Edwards Avenue and used a counterfeit $20 bill around 10 p.m. on May 13. He then left in a black pickup truck.

The man is described as a black man in his 20s, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering $5,000 cash reward for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to anonymously call 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
