Early morning robbery, assault reported on East Main Street
A Hispanic male reported being assaulted by three unknown subjects on East Main Street in Riverhead early Sunday morning after he refused to give them his money, according to a Riverhead Town police press release.
Police said the three male subjects made off with the man’s cell phone after they assaulted him. A K-9 search of the area produced negative results.
The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. near Prospect Place, police said. It’s the latest in a series of similar reported attacks.
Police are asking anyone with information about the alleged attack to call 631-727-4500.
