RECAP: Town Board discusses mural building, boat painting

liveblog

The Riverhead Town Board discussed a new site plan for 307 East Main Street — better known as the building with the mural — at Friday’s work session.

The application calls for facade and interior renovations, and to build an apartment on the top floor and possibly a restaurant on the ground floor. As for the mural, it will be removed, according to the applicant.

Also discussed a proposal from artist Chris Dyer to paint two rowboats donated by Port Jeff Ferry downtown from Aug. 20-23, with the painted boats being displayed during the Cardboard Boat Race on Aug. 23. The board also discussed a Town Hall computer safety assessment with Bill London of ABL Network Solutions, and a proposal to shoot a horror film at EPCAL.
