Mark A. Gatz

Former Riverhead resident Mark A. Gatz died Friday, July 31, at his Hampton Bays home.

Mr. Gatz received a Masters Degree from The Manthattan School of Music and was an adjunct professor at Suffolk County Community College. He was a musician and a music teacher for East End Arts in Riverhead for many years. Mr. Gatz also owned Gatz Music and Instrument repair shop in Hampton Bays, where he offered private music lessons.

Mr. Gatz is survived by his finaceé, Gail Katz of Hampton Bays; his brother, Bruce Gatz of Southampton and his sister, Michelle Danowski of Rockledge, Fla.

The family will receive visitors Thursday, Aug. 6, and Friday, Aug. 7, at J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. A Mass of Christian Burial will held Saturday, Aug. 8, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead. Burial followed in St. Isidore Cemetery.
