Police seek help identifying man struck by car, killed in Flanders

Southampton Town police are seeking the public’s help to identify a man who was struck by a car near the 7-Eleven store on Flanders Road in Flanders and later died of his injuries. 

The man, who has been described as Hispanic, 5-feet-1 inches tall and 149 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, was struck shortly after midnight Saturday morning. He was walking in the westbound lane of travel when he was struck by the car, which was traveling west, police said.

The unidentified victim was treated at the scene by Flanders Northampton Volunteer Ambulance and transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries a short time later.
