Cops: Man stole two safes from Horton Ave. home in May

Riverhead Police arrested a Bronx man today, nearly three months after they said he committed a burglary on Horton Avenue.

According to Riverhead police, on May 18 a resident said that someone had broken a rear sliding glass door by throwing a brick through it, and that same person entered a bedroom in the home and stole two safes from the closet.

Police were notified and after an investigation, arrested 19-year-old Tyrek Highsmith on Friday, charging him with second-degree burglary, a felony.
