Cops: Unlicensed Riverhead man arrested for DWI in Riverside

A Riverhead man was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony, after he was stopped by police while driving drunk in Riverside early Saturday morning, Southampton Town police said.

Saul Hernandez, 29, was stopped for leaving his lane of travel and driving with a headlight out on Flanders Road at about 2:30 a.m. when he was found to be driving intoxicated and without a driver’s license, police said.

Mr. Hernandez was also found to be wanted on an active bench warrant from Nassau County, police said.

He was processed and held for a morning arraignment.
