Halsey T. Young

Former Riverhead resident Halsey T. Young of Eastport died Sept. 6 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Northport. He was 87. 

He was born Aug. 10, 1928, in Riverhead to Louise (Tuthill) and John Young.

Mr. Young served in the U.S. Air Force for 17 1/2 years, achieving the rank of tech sergeant.

He is survived by his son, Louis, of Calverton.

A memorial service will take place at noon, Saturday, Sept. 12, at Hampton Bays Assembly of God. Cremation was private. Burial will take place at a later date.
