Mamie Grant Jackson
Mamie Grant Jackson, 78, of Riverhead died Oct. 6 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead.
She was born Dec. 31, 1936, in to Mabel Sweat and Ulysses Grant.
Ms. Jackson worked as a seamstress for Hudson Canvas & Awnings in Hampton Bays.
She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Jackson of Shirley and Donna Elmore of Riverhead; her sons, Cecil Elmore of Middle Island and Darryl Grant of South Carolina; her sisters Belle Belcher of North Carolina and Arden Greene of Maryland; her brother, Geroge Aaron Grant of Maryland; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors Friday, Oct. 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead, where a funeral service will take place.
