Riverhead News-Review debates set for Polish Hall tonight

The Riverhead News-Review will host a pair of public debates this Monday, Oct. 19, featuring candidates for Riverhead Town supervisor and Town Board.

The two-hour event will be held at 7 p.m. at Polish Hall. Executive editor Grant Parpan and editor Joseph Pinciaro will serve as co-moderators.

Questions have been prepared by newspaper staff and readers who suggested topics in advance of the event. Each candidate will be afforded time to respond to every question and to each other.

The first hour of the event will feature candidates for Town Board, including incumbent Republican Jim Wooten and GOP nominee Tim Hubbard, as well as Democrats Neil Krupnick and Laura Jens-Smith. In the second hour, town Supervisor Sean Walter, who is running on the Conservative line, and challengers Jodi Giglio, a Republican, and Anthony Coates, a Democrat, will field questions from moderators.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
