Police seek info on Polish Town robbery, stolen car

Riverhead Police are investigating an assault and theft in Polish Town that occurred around 7:40 p.m. last night.

Police received a 911 call about a dispute between several people near the corner of Pulaski Street and Hamilton Avenue. When police arrived, officers found a male victim who said he was pistol whipped, assaulted and robbed of cash by two unknown men while a third person took his vehicle from the parking lot across from the Riverhead Fire Station on Hamilton Avenue.

Authorities responded with a K-9 and the detective division, and a K-9 reportedly located evidence related to the crime. The victim’s 2003 Chevrolet Suburban was later recovered in a parking lot on Ostrander Avenue near Corwin Street.
