Cops: Riverhead man charged in Flanders 7-Eleven robbery

A 43-year-old Riverhead man has been arrested in connection with a robbery at a Flanders 7-Eleven earlier this week, Southampton Town police said.

Wesley Shedrick was arrested Wednesday and charged with third-degree robbery, a felony, police said.

Earlier this week, Lt. Susan Ralph told the News-Review a masked man entered the store at 721 Flanders Rd. and demanded the cash at about 12:30 a.m. He did not have a weapon, and no injuries were reported, police said.

Police at the time said the robber made off with more than $500 in cash. According to a recent news release, detectives investigated at the scene and identified Mr. Shedrick as the suspect.

Police found Mr. Shedrick Wednesday and arrested him. He was arraigned in town court and is currently being held without bail, a jail clerk said.
