Riverhead faculty raise $15K for scholarship fund at Harlem Wizards game
It didn’t matter what the scoreboard said when Riverhead teachers, staff and administrators took on the Harlem Wizards basketball team Thursday night: it was the Riverhead Central Faculty Association’s scholarship fund that was the real winner.
The RCFA hosted the third annual Harlem Wizards game at the Riverhead High School gymnasium, selling 1,100 tickets and raising $15,000 for the organization’s scholarship fund.
Before the game between the Riverhead school employees and the Harlem Wizards, 67 children were able to interact with the team.
“The RCFA would like to thank its sponsors and the public for attending this important fundraiser,” the organization said in a statement released by the school district.
