Aquebogue News: Old Steeple Church’s annual Christmas Bazaar

There are few people who I haven’t met but feel very connected to in our local community. Blake and Jasmine Corwin are among them.

They have been sending me wedding, anniversary, birthday and birth announcements for years. I am very glad to include that Jasmine was wished a very happy 30th birthday on Nov. 17 from her husband, Blake, and their two young daughters, and Jasmine’s mother, Nancy Taylor. Nancy also mentioned what a terrific wife and mother Jasmine is and that they all wish her a wonderful year ahead, especially because Jasmine and Blake are expecting their third child in May. Congratulations all around for the Corwin family and the proud grandparents, too. You have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.

November is a busy month for birthdays in our family. I already mentioned my son’s birthday in the last column. But I also want to wish my husband, Steve, a very happy birthday on Nov. 22. We stopped counting after 45. Our final November birthday is my daughter MaryAngela’s on the 25th. Happy birthday to you. I hope you get an ice cream turkey cake in Ohio. Johanna and I will be singing our rendition of Taylor Swift’s “22” all day. We will be sure to FaceTime our wishes in song.

The Jamesport Meeting House Chorus, under the direction of George Moravek, will perform a concert titled “It Don’t Mean a Thing If You Ain’t Got That Swing” on Sunday, Nov. 22, at 4 p.m. Tickets are $10. For more information, call 722-5170.

Old Steeple Community Church’s 45th annual Christmas Bazaar will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The sale will include boxed homemade cookies, handmade crafts and decorations, kitchen knives and tools, a food and baked goods table, chinese auction items and a “second time around” table of slightly used items. Lunch will be served.

Old Steeple Church is in need of “gently used” Christmas pieces to sell, as well as items to be used for chinese auction baskets. Please drop your donations off at the church during office hours: Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. They are also looking for homemade baked goods and food items to sell. Dropoff is at the Fellowship Hall Friday evening, Dec. 4, or by 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5.

Living Water Church’s Christmas Extravaganza, “The Wonder of Christmas,” will be held Thursday-Sunday, Dec. 10-13. It’s a beautiful and festive show filled with music, dance, drama and it’s a whole lot of fun! BOGO tickets are on sale until Sunday, Nov. 22. Call 722-4969, ext. 204, to reserve yours today.

Thanksgiving is only one week away! I want to wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving Day. I hope you will be surrounded by family and friends and that your mind and heart is filled with gratitude.
