Cops: Loaded handgun found at parolee’s home

A 32-year-old Riverhead man was arrested for possession of a loaded handgun Thursday night, Riverhead Town police said. 

New York State Parole, with the assistance of the Riverhead Town Police C.O.P.E. unit, conducted a compliance check on parolee Jesse Pace at his Melene Street home at about 9:50 p.m., police said. During the check, police recovered a loaded .38-caliber handgun.

Mr. Pace was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and obstructing governmental administration.
