Editor’s picks: My favorite staff photos of 2015

I’ve photographed graduation ceremonies before. It is not easy. You get up. You get down. You listen to Chuck Schumer speak. Then an administrator talks. Then students give their speeches. It’s hot. It’s long. It’s exhausting. Graduation photos can also be among the best in terms of capturing emotion, however. What I liked about this particular photo, taken by contributing photographer Katharine Schroeder, is that it tells several relatable stories. This is a day we work our whole adolescent lives for. Look at the excitement from the young lady and the confidence from the young man. I think we all want to shout on our graduation day. I think we all feel pretty cool. This photo reflects that.
