Riverhead woman charged with stealing from Mattituck CVS

A Riverhead woman was arrested after she allegedly stole phones and activation cards from a Mattituck convenience store Wednesday afternoon, Southold Town police said.

According to a news release, police headquarters got a call from the CVS on Main Road that a woman stole items from the store and ran off about 3:30 p.m.

Tanya Brown, 31, was later stopped by Southampton Town police and Southold cops went to where she was being held, according to the release. Police said Ms. Brown had the stolen items at the time of her arrest.

Ms. Brown was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor, and held for arraignment, police said.
