Cops: Teen robbed of wallet, cell phone on Union Avenue

An 18-year-old Riverhead teen reported that he was robbed by an unknown man as he walked down Union Avenue Saturday night, town police said in a press release. 

The teen said a black male in his early 20s wearing all black clothing punched him several times before stealing his wallet and cell phone and running off shortly before 9 p.m., police said.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have information is requested to contact the Riverhead Police Department at 631-727-4500.
