Patricia J. Garrett

Riverhead resident Patricia J. Garrett, formerly of Islip, died Jan. 10 at Westhampton Care Center. She was 75.

The daughter of Robert and Genevieve (Flanagan) Fahey, Ms. Garrett was born Aug. 8, 1940, in Brooklyn. She graduated from Bay Shore High School in 1959.

On Sept. 16, 1961, she married Donald Garrett in Bay Shore.

Family members said she was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and spending time with family.

Ms. Garrett is survived by her husband; her children, Patricia Reilly of Aquebogue, Donna Cetin of Centereach, Maureen Graef of Merrimack, N.H., Jennifer Callaghan of Moriches, Christopher, of Bay Shore and Kathleen Buccino of East Islip; her sisters, Genevieve Osekavage of Sayville, Joan Carney of East Islip and Mary Jane Perry of Dumphries, Va.; and 14 grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Wednesday, Jan. 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, Jan. 14, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
