Nancy-Jo Cantrell of Cutchogue died Jan. 8, 2016. She was 79.
She was born in Elmhurst to Joseph and Margaret (Reid) Kamron.
A resident of Cutchogue since 1964, she was a teachers’ aide at Cutchogue East School for some time. As her children got older, she joined North Fork Bank, retired, and went back to work for Capital One.
She was a member of the Cutchogue United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing bridge.
Predeceased by husbands, Thomas Scholand in 1966 and Fred Cantrell in 1979, she is survived by her sons, Greg Scholand of Mattituck and Todd Cantrell of New Suffolk; two sisters, Gaile Stewart of East Windsor, Conn. and Susan Malison of Commack and two grandchildren, Rebecca and Jared Scholand.
The family received visitors Jan. 11 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck where funeral services were conducted by Pastor Tom MacLeod of North Fork United Methodist Church. Interment followed at Cutchogue Cemetery.
