Cops: Homeless man caught inside Starbucks after burglary alarm goes off

Unknown

Riverhead police arrested a 56-year-old homeless man early Monday when they discovered him inside a Riverhead Starbucks after the burglar alarm had activated, according to a police report.

Police officers and a K9 unit responded to the Route 58 Starbucks about 1:40 a.m. after the commercial burglar alarm went off, according to the report. Once they got there, police allegedly found Patrick DeGori inside the building.

Mr. DeGori was arrested and taken to police headquarters. He was charged with third-degree burglary, a class D felony.

Riverhead police detectives also arrived on scene to investigate, according to the news release.

It’s the second time Mr. DeGori has been charged with felony burglary in less than a year. In June, he was arrested after allegedly breaking into a walk-in refrigerator at a downtown brewery and stealing beer.
