Southampton blotter: Man arrested for driving with suspended license

A Riverhead man was arrested for driving with a suspended license in Tuckahoe Jan. 20.

Boris Carpio Pacheco, 21, was reportedly stopped for speeding near the Southampton Golf Driving Range on County Road 39 around 11:30 a.m. when police learned his license was suspended for failing to answer a summons.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and driving without a license, a violation.

• Southampton Town police arrested an East Moriches man for drug possession in Riverside Jan. 20.

Evgeniy Pulver, 24, was allegedly stopped for traffic infractions near Evergreen Road around 7:05 p.m. Police said they smelled marijuana coming from inside the car, and the driver admitted there was marijuana under the front passenger seat. When the passenger, a 19-year-old woman, left the car, there was an oxycodone pill on the seat that no one claimed ownership of, officials said.

Mr. Pulver was arrested for seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. The female passenger, whom police declined to identify because she was charged as a “youthful offender,” was also charged with seventh-degree criminal possession.

Mr. Pulver was also arrested in March 2015 for his role as a driver during a bank robbery, according to a previous News-Review article.

• A Northampton man reported that his car was damaged last Thursday night while parked in front of his Rocky Point business, police said.
