Georgia T. Young

Aquebogue resident Georgia T. Young died on Feb. 12, 2016, at home at the age of 96. 

Mrs. Young was born Oct. 14 1919, at her family home on Sound Avenue in Northville on  to Edson Hallock Young and Theresa Charlotte (Klein) Young. She was a direct descendant of the original settlers who sailed from England and settled in Southold in 1640.

Mrs. Young graduated from Riverhead High School and attended Wheelock College in Boston where she graduated with a teaching degree. She was a member of the Old Steeple Community Church in Aquebogue. She enjoyed swimming, sewing, traveling, knitting, camping and family gatherings.

Mrs. Young is predeceased by her husband Curtis Jennings Young; her siblings Edson “Sonny” Young and Anna Krudop. She is survived by her children Myron (Corky) Young of Riverhead, Denise (Young) Corwin and daughter-in-law, Dale (Weiss) Young; four grandchildren, Sandra, Amy, Lynette, Tessie and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday, Feb. 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home in Riverhead. Burial will follow at Aquebogue Cemetery.
