Fredric Lewin

Lifelong Calverton resident Fredric “Fritz” Lewin died Feb. 12 at his home. He was 88.  The son of Grace (Cheshire) and Fredrick W. Lewin, he was born July 15, 1927, in Calverton.

Family members said Mr. Lewin enjoyed fishing, hunting and caring for his chickens.

Predeceased by his wife, Mary, in 2014 and his sisters, Audrey Wells and Thelma Scanlon, Mr. Lewin is survived by his children, Deborah, Keith, Thomas, Dawn and Lisa, all of Calverton; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family received visitors Feb. 15 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead, where a funeral service was held. Interment took place Feb. 16 at Riverhead Cemetery.
