Hazel Frances Sobieray

Lifelong Mattituck resident Hazel Frances Sobieray died peacefully at home Feb. 13. She was 80. 

She was born in Mattituck July 17, 1935, to Edgar and Ida (Pugsley) Worthington and was a graduate of Mattituck schools.

Hazel was a devoted homemaker who worked at A&P grocery store in earlier years. She was a fan of the New York Mets and was a collector of cookbooks and recipes.

She is survived by her husband, John; two children, John and Debbie, and her husband, “Rusty” Tyler, all of Mattituck; two grandchildren, Megan and Michael; and a great-grandson: MJ.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. Interment will follow at Cutchogue Cemetery.
