RECAP: Public hearing on Community Benefit Zoning District

The Riverhead Town Board will hold a public hearing on the proposed “Community Benefit Zoning District,” a floating zone that is needed for the First Baptist Church’s planned Family Community Life Center on Northville Turnpike.

The building project, which includes affordable apartments and recreational facilities, has been in the planning stages for more than 20 years.

The Town Board also is expected to adopt a resolution declaring the study period of its plans for  Enterprise Park at Calverton to be complete.

Other public hearings are on the agenda, including a proposal to change the way fees are increases at town facilities.
