Cops: Unlicensed driver charged with DWI after leaving scene of crash

An unlicensed driver from Riverhead was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident in which he had been driving drunk in Flanders early Saturday morning, according to a Southampton Town police press release.

Police said Anibal Cardona-Yoc, 34, had been involved in a crash at the intersection of Flanders Road and County Road 105 when he fled the scene.

He was located at about 3:30 a.m. on Ludlam Avenue in Riverside and found to be in an intoxicated condition, police said.

Mr. Cardona-Yoc was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Leaving the Scene of an Incident Without Reporting and third-degree unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, all misdemeanors, police said. He was cited for passing a red light.

Mr. Cardona-Yoc was held for a morning arraignment, police said.
