Christina Kiegiel

Christina Kiegiel of Riverhead died April 6 at the Kanas Center for Hospice Care in Quiouge. She was 79. 

The daughter of Stanislaw and Maria Jakusiewicz, she was born Feb. 9, 1937, in Poland.

Ms. Kiegiel was a former assembler for the Hazeltine Corporation.

Family members said she loved ceramics, cooking and taking care of others.

Predeceased by her husband Stanislaw in 2008, Ms. Kiegiel is survived by her children Richard, of Hampton Bays, Maria Socko of North Carolina and Christopher of Rochester, N.Y.; her companion, Henry Wojcik; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family received visitors April 8 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service took place April 9 at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead. Interment followed at the church cemetery.
