Veronica Harris

Veronica Harris of Calverton died April 22 at her home. She was 76. 

The daughter of Wister and Estelle (Brown) Rollins, she was born Dec. 27, 1939.

Ms. Harris graduated from Riverhead High School in 1957 and was a homemaker. Family members said she was very active in her church.

Predeceased by her husband, George, and her sisters June Boyce and Carol Hughes, Ms. Harris is survived by her children, Renee Harris-Thompson of East Yaphank and Ryan, of Riverhead; her sisters Jennifer Johnson of Calverton and Wanda Roberts-Brown of Riverhead; and one grandchild.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday, April 26, from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead, where a funeral service will take place at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
