Town Board to discuss proposed Jamesport park

The Riverhead Town Board is expected to discuss plans for property in Jamesport formerly owned by Jul-Bet Enterprises at its work session Thursday.

Developer Robert DiNoto has expressed interest in selling the development rights for 33 acres located at the northern portion of the property and has also agreed to allow Suffolk County to appraise another 10 acres located near Route 25 as possible parkland.

The property had been slated for commercial development under its prior owner and Mr. DiNoto has discussed building an assisted living project there.

Other topics on the agenda include discussions on special event permits and what to charge for them, licenses to film on the EPCAL runways, and its Youngs Avenue yard waste facility.

The meeting starts at 10 a.m. and News-Review reporter Tim Gannon will be live blogging. Click below to follow or comment and scroll down for the full agenda.
