Police searching for a pair of Target thieves

Riverhead Town police are asking for the public’s help identifying the suspects involved in two separate incidents that took place at Target in Riverhead earlier this month.

In the first incident, an unidentified man allegedly used a stolen credit card May 6 to make more than $5,500 in purchases at the Route 58 store.

According to a police press release, the man removed a wallet from a woman’s pocketbook at Panera Bread in Riverhead around 12:30 p.m. He then went to Target and, with the help of a second unidentified person, reportedly used the victim’s credit card to make the purchases.

In the second incident, police said an unidentified man removed merchandise from Target on May 9 without paying for it. When he attempted to leave the store, police said, a struggle ensued between him and some employees. The suspect reportedly threatened the use of a knife.
