Jean F. Smith
Jean F. Smith of Riverhead, formerly of East Meadow, died May 22 at her home. She was 94.
The daughter of John and Frances Czapka, she was born July 8, 1921, in Manhattan.
Ms. Smith worked in the circulation payroll department for Newsday. She was a member of St. Raphael R.C. Church in East Meadow.
Predeceased by her husband, Martin, in 2014, Ms. Smith is survived by her children, Jean Sumner Schneider of Tennessee, Ronald, of Babylon, Victoria Weiner of Riverhead and Martin Jr., of East Meadow; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors Thursday, May 26, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral Mass will take place at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 27, at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead. Interment will take place at Calverton National Cemetery.
