Cops: Flanders man charged with DWI at checkpoint

A Flanders man with a suspended license was arrested during a sobriety checkpoint in Hampton Bays and charged with a felony, Southampton Town police said. 

Pablo G. Carchipulla, 31, was one of six people arrested during the East End DWI Task Force’s patrols between 8 p.m. Saturday until 4 a.m. Sunday, police said.

Mr. Carchipulla was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony, in addition to driving while intoxicated, police said. He was also charged with second-degree circumventing an ignition interlock device, police said. Mr. Carchipulla had his license suspended for a prior DWI, police said.

Police also discovered an active arrest warrant from East Hampton Town police from a prior DWI, police said.

Other arrests during the checkpoint were:

Geovany Plaza, 27, of Sag Harbor for felony DWI, obstructing governmental administration, aggravated unlicensed operation in first and second degree, circumventing an ignition interlock device and numerous traffic violations.

Sebestian Ospina-Henao, 20, of Hampton Bays for second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to obey traffic direction and fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana.

Maguiber Ramirez-Barrera, 24, of Farmingville for DWI.

Mollie Caitlin Bower, 27, of Philadelphia for DWI.

Lori Ligrace Snyder, 53, of Great Neck Plaza for DWI.
