Calverton News: ‘Precious, Not Parents’ spay and neuter clinic

Well, the warm weather is certainly making the strawberries show their happy little faces. Yes indeed, local strawberries are ready and they are delicious. Like I’ve said before, don’t hesitate to throw them in Ziploc bags and toss them in the freezer for later use. They last all winter long and are simply tasty any time of the year. Make sure to get them while you can from our local farm stands and farmers. They surely appreciate your business.

Kent Animal Shelter and PetSmart Charities will be sponsoring a spay and neuter clinic called “Precious, Not Parents ” during June at the shelter. The cost is $20. It is safe for puppies and kittens under 6 months old — as young as 8 to 10 weeks — to be spayed/neutered. Many people wait till their pets are older but their risk of getting pregnant becomes greater each day. You must mention “Precious, Not Parents” when scheduling your appointment: 631-727-7797.

A very happy birthday to my buddy Gene Sendlewski, who will celebrate May 31. Your family and friends wish you a happy, fun day, Gene.

That is all for this week. I hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend. I hope you remembered the reason why we celebrate this holiday. Thanks to all who have served our country and kept us safe. We truly appreciate your sacrifice.

Be safe, be happy and I shall talk to you next time. Bye.
