Charles J. Conklin of Riverhead died May 31 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. He was 71.
The son of Charles and Mary Conklin, he was born July 11, 1944, in Glen Cove and attended Oyster Bay High School.
Mr. Conklin served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1963. He worked as a carpenter for Classic Carpentry in Mattituck.
Family members said he enjoyed dogs and golf.
Mr. Conklin is survived by his wife, Patricia (née Yberg) and his daughter, Lisa Boland-Conklin.
A funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, June 6, at Calverton National Cemetery.
Arrangements were in the care of Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue.
