A bicyclist became pinned underneath a trailer being towed by a pickup truck late Monday morning after a collision at the intersection of Horton Avenue and Sound Avenue in Riverhead.

The man, who was not seriously injured, was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center after he was freed, Riverhead Town police said.

The bicyclist was attempting to cross from Horton onto Sound Avenue, police said, when he collided with the trailer. The pickup truck was heading westbound on Sound Avenue, police said. The Riverhead Fire Department and Riverhead Ambulance volunteers responded to the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured, police said. The road was cleared by about noon.
