EPCAL plan, drive-in movies, helicopter noise on town agenda

The Riverhead Town Board is expected to vote on resolutions approving the rest of the outdoor drive-in movies that Riverhead Raceway has planned for its property on Route 58 at its meeting Tuesday.
Also up for a vote are a site plan from Salvation Army for a half basketball court and playground on land it owns just south of its Osborn Avenue facility; a vote to formally create a town helicopter noise committee and appoint members to it; and a vote to approve a new Urban Renewal plan for the Enterprise Park at Calverton land, and to amend its comprehensive plan to reflect the new reuse and revitalization plan at EPCAL.
The town will still need to adopt new zoning and a new subdivision map there before it can begin selling individual lots.
The meeting starts at 2 p.m. and News-Review reporter Tim Gannon will be live blogging. Click below to follow or comment and scroll down for the full agenda and resolution packet.
