John J. Donegan

Lifelong Riverhead resident John J. Donegan died Dec. 30 at his home. He was 48. 

The son of John and Joan (Clark) Donegan, he was born Dec. 2, 1968, in Riverhead.

Mr. Donegan worked as a chef for The Rendezvous restaurant in Riverhead.

Family members said he enjoyed fishing, cooking and nature.

Predeceased by his father in 2000 and his brother William in 2013, Mr. Donegan is survived by his mother, Joan, of Riverhead and his siblings, Lisa Samen of Colorado and David, of Riverhead.

The family will receive visitors Wednesday, Jan. 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. at McLaughin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. Cremation will be private.
