Shoreham-Wading River news: A lengthy birthday list

Dear readers, it’s nice to be back speaking to you and about you again. I hope you enjoyed the holiday season and made some grand promises that you’ll be steadfast to achieve in the new year. Happy 2017, everyone!

The North Country Road Warriors once again kicked off the new year with their 3rd annual New Year’s Resolution Run/Walk. After members covered the 5K and five-mile Shoreham course, they celebrated with a champagne toast, bagels and hot chocolate. NCRW is a nonprofit club formed for runners and walkers of all levels in our community. For more information or to join, email Frank Capone at [email protected].

Tom Kitz of Wading River sends birthday wishes to Jack (Jan. 5) and Amy Kitz (Jan. 6). Siblings born just one day apart are a rarity. Best wishes to Jack and Amy and the entire Kitz family.

Happy birthday also to my friend Tracey O’Reilly, a wonderful lady who will celebrate Jan. 23. That’s a lot of “Happy Birthday” songs!

Welcome to my new driver assistant, Shoreham resident Elizabeth Roy. When you told me the street you used to live on in Selden was Newton Road — named after my father’s family — I knew fate had a hand in putting us together.

Have a wonderful two weeks! Continue to stay happy and healthy by appreciating all that you have and all that you are.
