Riverhead Blotter: $4.7K worth of tools stolen from elementary school

Nearly $4,750 worth of tools were reported stolen Monday from Wading River Elementary School, according to a report. Among the missing items were a press tool, Hilti hammer and Sawzall, police said. The theft reportedly occurred between Friday and Monday.

• Kimberly Trinidad, 30, of Calverton was arrested Sunday around 6:30 p.m. at Lucky House in Riverhead and charged with first-degree criminal contempt and criminal impersonation, the report states. No other details about the incident were provided.

• Riverhead High School assistant principal Sean O’Hara contacted police Monday after a technology teacher witnessed a student making “unauthorized and alarming Internet searches,” the report states. The supplemental report wasn’t provided and Superintendent Nancy Carney didn’t immediately respond to a message seeking comment. No other details about the incident were available.

• Justin Cruz, 25, of Bay Shore was arrested around 9:40 a.m. last Tuesday and charged with two counts of petit larceny following a police investigation, the report states. He was transported to the Riverhead Town Police Department for processing from the Suffolk County Correctional Facility, where he’s currently incarcerated, officials said.

• Alicia Booker, 28, of Riverhead was arrested around 11:30 a.m. last Tuesday on Route 58 in Riverhead and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and numerous traffic violations, the report states.

• Eric Gonzalez, 19, of Calverton was arrested around 9:40 p.m. last Tuesday on Edwards Avenue in Calverton and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, police said.

• Barry Chandler, 39, of Riverhead was arrested Saturday around 4:20 p.m. on Route 58 in Riverhead and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, officials said.

• Jessica Bisson, 26, of Riverhead was arrested around 6:20 p.m. last Tuesday on West Main Street in Riverhead and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, police said.

• Paola Fajardo was arrested around 5:30 p.m. last Wednesday at Staples in Riverhead and charged with petit larceny and trespassing, police said.

• Franco Salto, 40, of Riverhead was arrested around 6 a.m. last Thursday on Harrison Avenue in Riverhead and charged with trespassing, police said.

• Yvette Roosa, 55, of Rocky Point was arrested around 1:30 p.m. last Wednesday at HomeGoods in Riverhead on a larceny charge, police said.

Those who are named in police reports have not been convicted of any crime or violation. The charges against them may later be reduced or withdrawn, or they may be found innocent.
