Edward C. Klein

Edward C. Klein, 62, of East Quogue died April 16 at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore. 

The son of William Klein and Barbara (Brandel), he was born June 13, 1954, in Farmingdale.

Edward received a bachelor’s degree and worked as the school lunch director for the Central Islip school district.

Edward loved the ocean and was a softball coach for six years. He will be greatly missed by all.

Edward is survived by his daughters, Tracey (Kevin) McGarvey and Melinda (Matt) English; siblings, Kathleen Lankau and William, Robert, Thomas, Treesha, Michael, James, Joseph and Charles Klein; grandchildren, Marin McGarvey, Enna McGarvey and Mae English; best friend and companion, Darlene Firneno; 21 nieces and nephews; and 17 great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will receive visitors Thursday, April 20, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will take place at 10:45 a.m. Friday, April 21, at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead, officiated by the Rev. Lawrence Duncklee. Cremation will be private.
