Frances McKenney

Frances McKenney, 87, of Mastic Beach died July 27 at Stony Brook University Hospital. 

The daughter of Veronica (Marciorowski) and Vincento Karpinski, she was born Jan. 10, 1930, in Riverhead and was a homemaker. She married Richard McKenney on Jan. 26, 1957.

Family members said Ms. McKenney was a the best mother and was an avid gardener and an animal lover.

Predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Richard A. McKenney, in 2013 and her son, Daniel, Ms. McKenney is survived by her children, Richard J. McKenney, Lisa McKenney, Kevin (Gigi) McKenney, Steven McKenney, Keith McKenney and Yvonne (Anthony) Donato and two grandchildren, Victoria and Michael Ethan.

The family received visitors July 31 at Tuthill-Mangano Funeral in Riverhead. A funeral service took place Aug. 1 at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead. Interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery.
