Cops: Man attacked, robbed on Pond View Road in Riverhead

Riverhead Town police are searching for two suspects who reportedly attacked and robbed a man Friday night in Riverhead, according to a press release.

A Hispanic man was walking on Pond View Road near Franklin Street around 11:55 p.m. when he was attacked by two men, officials said.

Police said the suspects stole cash from his pocket and fled the area southbound on Pond View Road. The suspects are only described as black males, the report states.

Officers and a K-9 unit, as well as the Riverhead Detective Division, responded to the scene and didn’t locate the suspects.

No other details about the robbery were available.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Riverhead Town Police Department at 631-727-4500. All calls will remain confidential, officials said.

On Wednesday, Aug. 2, around 9:45 p.m., a Hispanic man was walking on Union Avenue near East Main Street when he was attacked by three men, police said. Those suspects were described as black males in their early 20s and one of them was wearing a gray shirt, red shorts and red and white sneakers, the report states. No arrests in that robbery have been made.
