The Suffolk County Police Arson squad is investigating a fire at a Wading River home that occurred late Friday night, according to Riverhead Town police.
Police received a call of a structure fire at 187 Overlook Drive just before 11 p.m. and the responding officers reported an active fire at the scene. The Wading River Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire, police said. Riverhead detectives responded to the scene, and after an initial investigation, the Suffolk County Police Arson squad was requested to assist.
No injuries were reported in the fire. Two dogs were located in the residence and were safely removed and turned over to Animal Control, police said.
