Planning Board approves Twin Forks Beer Company’s site plan
The Riverhead Planning Board on Thursday approved the final site plan for Twin Forks Beer Company’s brewery and tasting room, set to be built on Raynor Avenue in Riverhead.
Plans call for a 11,480-square-foot brewery with an accessory tasting room.
The final site plan was approved under conditions such as it hours of operation must end no later than 9 p.m. and outdoor music is not permitted.
The company is run by twin brothers and Riverhead natives Pete and Dan Chekijian, who have been brewing out of another local brewery.
The approval comes a day after Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that the state is now home to 400 breweries — 44 of which are on Long Island. State officials report that since the governor held its first Wine, Beer and Spirits Summit in 2012, 243 new breweries obtained licenses across the state.
NEW GAS STATION
A new gas station on Route 58 and the corner of Ostrander Avenue received final site plan approval Thursday.
TSA Capital is proposing to build the BJ’s Wholesale Club gas station, which will add four fuel pumps with eight fueling station to the site, which has long sat vacant. The plan also calls for a 2,628-square-foot canopy an a 165-square-foot attendant kiosk. There is no convenience store attached to this plan.
