Barbara M. Anderson

Barbara M. Anderson of Jamesport died March 8 at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore. She was 82. 

The daughter of John and Mary (Kostyra) Sabat, she was born Oct. 27, 1935, and graduated from Riverhead High School.

Ms. Anderson worked as a secretary for orthodontist Dr. Neilens and was the office manager at East End Asphalt.

She was a member of the St. Isidore R.C. Church Altar Rosary Society and sang in the church choir.

Family members said her family and her church were most important to her.

Ms. Anderson is survived by her husband, John; her daughters Karen Ivins, Marie Tribuzio, Denise Anderson-Bayh and Annette Brewer and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Sunday, March 11, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral Mass will take place at 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 12, at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
