Longtime South Jamesport resident Ann L. Dunkirk died March 7 in South Jamesport. She was 86.
The daughter of John and Olga (Olsen) Schafer, she was born July, 17, 1931, in Greenport and graduated from Greenport High School.
Ms. Dunkirk was a homemaker who volunteered at Central Suffolk Hospital in Riverhead.
Family members said she enjoyed making crafts with the homemakers club and loved the beach.
Predeceased by her husband, William D. Dunkirk on Dec. 13, 2001, and her son Roger L. Tuthill on Dec. 3, 1980, Ms. Dunkirk is survived by her significant other, Gerret “Gerry” Conover; her children, Robert D. Dunkirk (Melody), Linda J. McRae (Paul), Linda M. Donahue (John), William P. Dunkirk (Andrea), Donald L. Tuthill (Laurin), Sharon A. Mitrani (Joseph) and Steven J. Tuthill (Diane); 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors Saturday, March 17, from 2 to 6 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead.
