Flanders woman faces multiple charges for a string of Riverhead crimes

A Flanders woman is facing multiple charges following a string of crimes that occurred throughout Riverhead last month.

Aleesha Strand was arrested in connection to three incidents, Riverhead Police said in a press release.

The first was July 24 when police said Ms. Strand took $782 worth of goods from Stop & Shop on Old Country Road. Two days later, July 26, at around 6:40 p.m., police said she menaced an employee of the Riverhead Old Navy with a stun gun. At 7 p.m. that evening, police said she gave a stun gun to a juvenile who menaced an employee at Stop and Shop.

Ms. Strand was arrested Friday and charged with petit larceny, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and criminal facilitation, according to police.
